Creativity takes courage

To be creative, you need to dive into the chaos, complexity or the unknown. And you can only do this if you are courageous. It’s actually stepping outside your comfort zone to be ready for people feedback on your creative work.

We may feel fear every time we design something or write something or sing something different.

The famous Henri Matisse once said, “Creativity takes courage“.

Creativity is trying to create something different, something new or unique. And every time we may feel fear just being creative.

Creativity is bringing new norms or new perspective and to do this you need courage.

A successful team is like a swiss knife

Simply gathering people from different departments under a leader does not make a team. Instead it will be a group of people bunched together. To make a successful team It’s important to understand the distinct personalities people may have and how they interact with each other.

A swiss knife is a perfect metaphor to explain the making of a successful team.

The Question Man – Our hero for turbulent times

Adam Grant in his book “Think Again” writes:

“Intelligence is traditionally viewed as the ability to think and learn. Yet in a turbulent world, there’s another set of cognitive skills that might matter more: the ability to rethink and unlearn.”

“We often prefer the ease of hanging on to old views over the difficulty of grappling with new ones. Yet there are also deeper forces behind our resistance to rethinking. Questioning ourselves makes the world more unpredictable. It requires us to admit that the facts may have changed, that what was once right may now be wrong. Reconsidering something we believe deeply can threaten our identities making it feel as if we are losing a part of ourselves.”

“Under acute stress, people typically revert to their automatic, well-learned responses.”

“Our ways of thinking become habits that can weigh us down, and we don’t bother to question them until it’s too late.”

Inspired by the above words, i took the liberty of doodling it.

Think Again is a must read book.
